Julieta Martinez, President/CEO

Thank you for your interest in Kings EDC. Your support of our organization is an endorsement of our efforts to improve Kings County’s economy.

2021 saw the beginning of the recovery of the U.S. economy and Kings County was no exception. Throughout the past 24 difficult months, Kings EDC has been actively supporting Kings County businesses through the communication of critical information, the offering of loans and grants to mitigate the economic lockdown’s impact and working with the Job Training Office to respond to the many layoffs and furloughs to be followed by a severe labor shortage.

Despite its challenges, the end of FY 2022 through FY 2023 was surprisingly active for the EDC. Hanford’s Central Valley Meat continued its major 128-acre expansion that will expand processing by 50% increasing throughput by 1,500 head of cattle per day. Helena Agri-Enterprises prepared for groundbreaking of their new consolidated facility in Lemoore’s Kings River Business & Industry Park. Corcoran’s Pacifica Tiny Homes completed the purchase of their 12-acre production property. Standridge Partners Beef Plant finalized its permits with the city of Lemoore for a facility that will process 210 cattle per day on 135 acres. The old Kings Hospital remodeling was completed, and the new Kings Building was inaugurated on August 30, 2023. This iconic building will host Behavioral Health and Human Services Agency departments.

Much has been happening in the high-tech sector as well. Faraday Future has gone public and released their production-intent vehicle. The Surf Ranch, World Surf League/Kelly Slater’s surfing facility, just completed their international longboard championship event in Lemoore, and was the site of ABC’s Ultimate Surfer TV series. Two NAS Lemoore homeported squadrons have completed their transition to F-35C’s.

Investment in business development helps all of Kings County. Please let me know if you have questions about the EDC, or if there is anything we can do to support your business.
